Next General Session! Population-based Healthcare in Washtenaw County.

   Don’t forget our next General Session is scheduled for Tuesday, December 4, 2012.  The program is being held at the Ann Arbor City Club, 1830 Washtenaw Avenue, Ann Arbor.  The Social hour will begin at 6:00 p.m., Dinner at 6:45 p.m., and the program at 7:30 p.m.
 
   The evening’s program is the “Population-based Healthcare in Washtenaw County.” Mary Durfee, MD, IHA Board Member, and Marianne Udow-Phillips, Director of Center for Healthcare Research & Transformation, comprise the panel of featured speakers.

The Michigan State Medical Society (MSMS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.  The MSMS designates this educational activity for a maximum of 1 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.  Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
 
Nurses: The ACCME is approved by the Board of Nursing as an acceptable provider of continuing education for license renewal or relicensure.

 
            The following are the educational objectives of the program:

  • To identify and explain two of the current population health management initiatives already afoot in Washtenaw County

 

  • To explain the Washtenaw Health Initiative and how physicians can get involved to assist their patients.

 

  • To describe the basics of population management, illustrate how it works, and summarize the achievement of the “Triple Aim” in Washtenaw County.

 

  • To describe and explain how the county is preparing for health reform in 2014.

   The general session is supported by the Washtenaw County Medical Society and the MSMS Physicians Insurance Agency.
